About

Q. How old were you when you picked up a camera?

A. About 8yrs old. My school went to the zoo and I took my Mother's camera. It shot medium format. I was very excited because I didn't take any out of focus shots.

Q. Do you have any qualifications?

A. Yes, a Bachelor of Arts (photography) RMIT and a Diploma of Illustrative Photography PSC. I have also assisted many commercial photographers and taken a number of professional development courses.

Q. What type of camera do you use?

A. It really depends on the work I am doing. I use a Nikon digital camera for most commercial work but also use older film cameras. I have all types and formats.

Q. Where are you located?

A. I am based in Melbourne, Australia. But I am more than happy to travel to a location.

Q. Do you accept commissions?

A. Yes, please get in touch and tell me about any project you have in mind.

 Q. How much do you charge?

A. That will depend on what the needs of your project. Anything can be negotiated though.

Q. What is your favourite food?

A. Lasagne, but I also love Moroccan food. Is beer a food?

Q. What type of things do you love to photograph?

A. As I have got older I have drifted further towards people based projects as there are so many people doing interesting things. I like to keep a theme or style throughout a series of work as you will notice from the work on my site.

Q. How do you know what to photograph?

A. For my personal work, an idea comes to mind and I will start to play around it. Do some research, send some emails, make some calls and test it to see if I think it is worth running with.

Q. Do you have a favourite project?

A. It would have to be the Kiribati series. Apart from being an amazing experience to travel to the Pacific and meet so many lovely people, this was an opportunity for me to use my skills to make a difference to a people who were struggling to have a voice on climate change. Largely ignored until the Paris Climate Change Summit, I'd like to think we played a part (albeit a small one) in getting them noticed by the world.
