Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea

My first solo exhibition.

My aim was to engage memory. To capture the things that I thought about when I wasn't in Melbourne but to do so in a way that suggested a dream or a flash across a mind. Not clear but vivid none the less. Much like many of our memories.

In a similar way these photographs appear as a flash. Not clear but recognisable. Little detail but enough to trigger a story and a smile.

An aboriginal boy once encountered a photographer out bush taking photographs. The boy asked him what he was doing. They photographer replied I am taking landscape photographs. The boy responded, 'This is my country! Where's your country?'

These photographs are my country.

Where is yours?
